| The Organic Conversion Information Service (OCIS) has been operational in Wales since 1996. In 2001 the original funding arrangements for OCIS came to an end and this review was conducted to evaluate the service and canvas farmer opinion to inform the next phase of its development. A questionnaire survey of everyone who had contacted OCIS in its first five years revealed generally high satisfaction with the helpline, information pack and on-farm advisory visits provided by the service. Farmers identified a range of extra features that would be useful, such as more information on marketing, environmental issues and conversion planning. |

| The African Organic Agriculture Training Manual project, which was started in October 2009 by the Research Institute of Organic Agriculture aims at delivering and enabling best farming practices to farmers, farmer groups, extension workers and trainers. The appropriate training materials will help extension workers to better address and communicate with small-holder farmers, and as a result encourage application of new technologies for sustainable agriculture. This training manual is a key ingredient in the dissemination of sustainable agriculture best practices. |

| Das Projekt „Beratung ökologisch wirtschaftender Erzeuger in Deutschland“ liefert erstmals umfassende Daten zur bundesweiten Beratungssituation der Sicht der Öko-Erzeuger. Basierend auf den Ergebnissen zur Inanspruchnahme und Zufriedenheit mit Beratung sollen Empfehlungen und Konzeptionen für Qualifizierungsmaßnahmen von Beratungskräften in Kooperation mit den Anbieterorganisationen formuliert werden. Im Zeitraum November 2013 bis Februar 2014 wurden mit Hilfe eines standardisierten Fragebogens bundesweit Öko-Erzeuger befragt. Für die statistische Auswertung konnten die Daten von 598 Fragebögen verwendet werden. | The Internet may reduce constraints on a farmers ability to receive and manage information, regardless of where the farm is located or when the information is used. Using a count data estimation procedure, this study attempts to examine the key farm, operator, regional, and household characteristics that influence the number of Internet applications used by farm households. Findings indicate that educational level of the farm operator, farm size, farm diversification, off-farm income, off-farm investments, and regional location of the farm have a significant impact on the number of Internet applications used. |
